Locals welcome refreshingly new economic plan

Local people could hardly contain their excitement when the Welsh Government announced a new economic plan for Wales, that was not wholly focused upon tourism and non-local housing needs. In the plan drawn up by Welsh civil servants working in Wales, a structure for developing economic activity meeting local needs is presented.

Quoting a press-release for a change, instead of producing original work derived from investigative journalism, "The Welsh Government is committed to supporting high-skilled and non-seasonal employment, that is often only available in England's larger cities such as Manchester and London. We hope that by supporting these kind of employment opportunities, there will be fewer high-skilled and economically active persons leaving Wales. As those who have chosen to work for the Welsh Government and not in some other private-sector job, we have decided to show originality, ambition and leadership for once. In the past we have heavily relied upon monies from tourism, without pausing to ask what kind of jobs those tourists have in the first place. We hope that this is the first step in devising a plan that actually succeeds."

The statement by the Welsh Government was welcomed with caution, as it has previously presented non-skilled supermarket and temporary construction jobs as game changers for the Welsh economy. More recently a new prison has been put forward as the pinnacle of economic policy resulting in heavy criticism and bewilderment.
